My purpose is to show excellence in all aspects of my life and inspire others through leading by example.
In defining who I am and what drives me, much of my character has been shaped by my faith and upbringing, which has profoundly impacted my growth as a person and a leader. The core of my being is devoted to a sense of right and wrong and an innate desire to ensure that every individual is treated fairly. This commitment is seamlessly intertwined with my values of integrity, honesty, and compassion. However, over time, I have learned to appreciate the gray areas.
From helping an older man at the DMV fill out an electronic form to picking up litter during a walk or guiding my children through thoughtful decision-making processes, my life is a testament to the importance of making the right choices. These actions are not just isolated incidents but reflect an overarching principle of doing what is ethically correct.
Challenges are inevitable in life, and everyone faces critical decisions. In navigating these challenges, I find comfort in relying on my unwavering principles of honesty and integrity. This foundation empowers me to tackle difficulties head-on, whether rectifying inaccuracies stemming from careless work within my team or negotiating with individuals of questionable character. Serving as a compass, my intrinsic standards guide me through the complexities of both the personal and professional realms. Through these values, I have overcome obstacles and fostered a workplace environment that upholds ethical standards and promotes a sense of collective responsibility.
My goal as a leader is to create an environment where individuals can thrive and develop policies that support that endeavor. By leading by example, I can mentor individuals, gain the trust of my constituents, and promote a transformational relationship where achieving goals means more than earning a paycheck.
Being educated in the Waldorf school, I have a unique perspective on the world. My primary and secondary years were spent nurturing a love for nature, my fellow man, and the pursuit of truth.
My post-secondary education includes a BS in Soil Science from Colorado State University, an MS in Exercise Science, and an MBA from Concordia University St. Paul.
Humility. Each person has a part to play and makes contributions to the whole. One person is no more important than another.
Equity. Everyone deserves to be treated fairly and with respect; systems and policies should reflect that.
Honesty. Even when no one is watching, my actions are consistent.
Compassion. Each person has their own story, and compassion appears in my leadership with the mentoring and development of others. I desire to see others succeed.
